Is it a member's length of time on GasBuddy, consecutive days or total points used for the tiebreakers or is it something completely different? I would like to know. Thank you.

I have never been able to figure out what GasBuddy uses as the tie breakers when more than one member have the same 30 day or overall point totals. Is it a member's length of time on GasBuddy, consecutive days or total points used for the tiebreakers or is it something completely different? I would like to know. Thank you.

Just a quick look at the 30,725 group shows an Eastern Time Zone, Central Time Zone, Mountain, Pacific ordering.

My assumption is the point totals are queued up, based on when each member earned them and when totals are calculated, and are are subject to change whenever the system refreshes based on the current snapshot of "30 days" of time being presented. You have a whole bunch of people with 29,650 points and they may be ranked from 350 to well over a thousand. So you check out a few of the profiles of those with the same 30 day points to see if anything is obvious as to how it works. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason that one can figure it out. You would think that someone from GB would come on here and explain it to us. Come on guys, give us a break please. Thank you.

Maybe someone could take several snapshots and see whether they can disprove all the hypotheses involving a sensible order. If they care enough.

All members with the same point total should have the same rank. It is a defect in the GB software that prevents these rankings from being correctly posted.

However, if it's not obvious by looking at a few examples, then I'd say that it's quite likely either (1) based on who achieved that total first, or (2) unspecified and generally irreproducible.
