Preaching to the choir but, today is Monday, April 15. Today is the day after "All online users are boycotting ALL gas stations..."
I trust that, because the boycott guidance was to buy gas before or after April 15, that no one bought less fuel than they would have bought, regardless of the day of the "boycott."
So, since this boycott, however successful it's been, is now over, let's move on and ask the moderators to close this thread. And then we can sit and wait for the next thread to be created telling us that there's a "Don't buy gas on..." date scheduled for, perhaps May 15 or Memorial Day weekend, or some such date.

End of the Mayan calendar is a good time to start boycotting a lot of things.

Wow, with ALL ONLINE USERS boycotting ALL gas stations, there must have been a massive message sent to BIG OIL. Great work, Hardtime69. Can you take a bow for your efforts, and link the stories from the NY Times and Washington Post detailing the protest? How about the Investors Business Daily article on ExxonMobil stock losing half its' value over the protest?

I trust that we will hear from Hardtimes1969, edadidas or Road4Runner to let us all know how effective this boycott was.

Why? Because it's the normal tax day? You should have given a reason.

Really? You're saying that President Kennedy was killed by the oil industry because the president wanted to take away the oil industry's tax subsidies?
Maybe I'm a skeptic, but could you provide a little substance or proof of your comment? Just a little? Because, and maybe it's just me, your assertion sounds a little, just a little, naive. I actually want to say it sounds a little dumb, but I'll concede to naive. Nothing personal; just my opinion.

One day boycott? That's like holding your breath for a day and then getting back to business as usual. This will give station workers a nice quiet day of work and save wear & tear on the gas pumps.
Change to diesel and boycott gasoline forever!

Why, especially if you know that tomorrow or the next day, prices will be higher?

JD and Michael: Instead of "Take a Stand" your suggesting to call it "Take a Seat" or "Lawnchairs Across America" ? Boycotts do not work but your action plan is one I would be more comfortable with.

It is my opinion that the only way this will work is for EVERYONE to take a stand on this. However, if you look at the government profit from gas prices versus the profits to oil companies we might think of another avenue to take in regard to lowering gas prices. The government makes a .49 cent per gallon profit and the oil companies make .05 cent per gallon. If the current administration would get their heads out of the sand and take care of American's and not worry about the needs of other nations we could lower gas prices. This is my opinion, not gospel!

Hardtimes1969, still with one message post and 400 points, has yet to say how "If you need gas please get it before or after this date" constitutes a "boycott". After all, not buying gas on one particular day is no different than what most people do; they buy gas only once in a while, not every day.

"Should boycott on a holiday weekend (2 or more days). Might be a long enough time span with a significant decrease in gasoline sales to get the Oil Co.s' attention. Of course this would have to be on a national scale. Just a thought, make a big enough impact on the bottom line to get the Oil Co.'s attention."
KoiKitty,
Did you not bother to read the many replies to this subject (some with links to external references) which state how this boycotting nonsense will not work?
