As long as the liberal California politicians keep their hands in the cookie jar the price of gasoline will continue to sky rocket in California.

This is crazy. We are in South Lake Tahoe and the prices range from $4.05 to $4.99 for regular unleaded.

A lot of speculators who hold contracts to buy gas at these high prices are going to lose their shirt when they cannot sell it before the contract date comes. If a lot of speculators get burned on this , some common sense will enter the market. Anyone old enough to remember the .com bubble? Do not allow the governments to bail out any bank that fails if they lost the money on gasoline/oil futures. It is time for big investors who are addicted to these paper profits, to get off the heroin, and start investing in a real economy like home building , manufacturing , the industries that made the U.S. a great country.

Now I have thought about this every time we experience a price hike, if "we" can all get on board with this and ban the purchase of gas, for just one day, worldwide....that would make quite a statement, send the message. I simply wont buy gas when this happens, i will ride my bike or walk. I know that everyone cannot do that, but im sure there are some of you who can.

The greedy gets greedier.....
Independent gas retaliers always pay the price. For the big ones, this is one way to eliminate 'competition'. Nothing new here...

Chevron claims they make superior and proprietary gasoline with their "Techron". Shell makes the same claim with their "V Power". I am sure that Unocal and Exxon Mobil make it as well. So why then after Chevron had an explosion at the Richmond refinery in early August, didn't only their gas spike in price? Shell and Unocal and Exxon Mobil all have their own gas. Shouldn't this event only have been Chevron's problem??? Yet every oil company raised prices with Chevron.
Sorry but you can't have it both ways!

All consumers have the right to decide not to pay prices considered unreasonable and that includes consumers who are gas stations.

"Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) is a passenger train and multi-use pathway project located in San Francisco’s North Bay.
SMART will provide rail service along 70 miles of the historic Northwestern Pacific Railroad alignment, connecting urban and rural residents of the two counties with jobs, education and health care services in the region. The project revives the long-dormant but publicly owned railroad right of way, serving 14 stations from Cloverdale in Sonoma County to the San Francisco-bound ferry terminal in Larkspur, Marin County."
Golly, I wish I could delete my previous posts here.

I just can't feel sorry for folks that live in California, they have voted the politicians into office that have lead to the state going bankrupt, so you get what you vote for. Remember that come November!

Just one more reason I want out of this state! This time when I leave I WILL NOT COME BACK! What a shame, I was raised here but left for many years to live in states that can manage their money, take care of their people, don't fire teachers, have health care that is affordable, and certainly do not have prices this high! On anything!
