Gas prices expected to fall in Michigan

Detroit Free Press -- Gas prices in Michigan are expected to start falling, thanks to the reopening of a downed major Midwestern pipeline, scheduled to restart today.

The federal government on Monday approved a plan to allow Enbridge to start up a 467-mile segment of its line again.

Gas averages $3.99 a gallon in Michigan, a jump from $3.60 in one week, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge. The national average is $3.61. The recent spike in gas prices in Michigan is mostly because of the Enbridge shutdown, though refinery problems elsewhere in the Midwest also contributed.

don't worry, the speculators are very busy finding other ways to jack up our gas and oil prices, while our government never sees any wrongdoing by big oil market supply manipulation or reckless speculation.

So much for Obama's lie about twice "calling on Congress to "reign in speculators", one lie of many by this liar in chief. He has not appropriated one cent for this to Congress or the CFTC. Hey Obama, put up or shut up. When it comes to helping the American people, you're all talk and whatever policy to enact always costs us more money and seeks to control every aspect of our lives.

Well this is good news and about time it did! It should do so in all areas of the country though. Price management should be roughly equal across the nation, with only minor differences in price.

I will believe that when I see it. They went up from $3.42 to $3.95 a gallon in the space of about 2-3 days here. My neighborhood stations are around 3.88 or so today. I doubt it will go back to 3.42 though.
